England cricket team’s legendary batsman Kevin Pietersen was in mood during the Legends League Cricket match between Asia Lions and World Giants as the English men struck consecutive 9 boundaries during the match.
The 5th match of the ongoing Legends League Cricket saw World Giants take on the Asia Lions at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground in Oman, where we saw a Kevin Pietersen special from the English man.
With the help of a brilliant 41 runs inning from the former Afghanistan captain Asghar Afghan, Asia Lions set a target of 150 runs for th World Giants.
Former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen, who opened the inning with Harschelle Gibbs, was in no mood of playing around as he went berserk from the word get go.
Pietersen struck a brilliant 86 runs of 38 balls including 9 boundaries and 7 sixes. But he went crazy from the beginning of the 6th over, when he scored 30 runs of that over against Sri Lankan legend Sanath Jayasuriya.
And when the everyone thought that the whirlwind has stopped, Pietersen once again pressed the throttle in the 7th over when he scored another 3 boundaries, ensuring that the bowler Dilhara Fernando losses his line and length and gave away a no ball plus byes four run.
Asia Lions got sigh of relief when they finally dismissed Kevin Pietersen during the 11th over by Muttiah Muralitharan. But, by that time, Kevin Pietersen had already done the damage and scored 86 runs before was dismissed.
Cameos from Kevin O’Brien and Corey Anderson ensured that World Giants complete an easy run chase by winning the match with 7 wickets still in hand and 7 overs of play was still remaining.
However, the match will be remembered for the Englishman’s blistering knock which involves 9 boundaries in a row. Twitter went crazy after Pietersen’s destruction of the Asia Lions bolwers.

Watching Kevin Pietersen bat even years after he last played his last competitive cricket game is such a treat. Those 9 fours and 7 sixes have single-handedly been sufficient to defeat the Lions side that anyway didn’t post a daunting score. #LLCT20 #LegendsLeagueCricket

For people who are too young to have seen @KP24 when he played for England, this is the sort of destructive player he was https://t.co/TPVxhCYBSH
