Rishabh Pant is one of the most unique hitters of the ball in world cricket. Many fans have labeled him the ambassador of one-handed shots in cricket because he has cleared the boundary on many occasions despite losing the grip of his bat.

During the 19th match of the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League which is currently underway at the Brabourne Stadium featuring two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders and last season’s tabletoppers Delhi Capitals, Rishabh played a similar kind of shot. It was the 11th over of the innings, with Varun Chakravarthy being the bowler.

Pant looked in an aggressive mood. He started the over with a six on the first ball and followed it up with a four on the second ball. After a long time, the fans saw Pant play his natural game in the shortest format of the game. The four that he hit was on the second ball, and while playing the shot he lost grip of his bat which landed behind the wicket-keeper.

David Warner supported him well in their brief partnership for the second wicket. Before the match, Warner had a chat with the host broadcasters, where he said:

“It’s about getting a win on the board (today), can’t get too far behind this early. It’s about going there and putting in our best efforts. Fielding is a big component of that and we’ll try our best to outfield Kolkata because that’s where games are won or lost.”
