Warner opened the innings with Mandeep Singh. Kumar dismissed Singh in the first over itself, but Warner held one end till the last over and scored 92 runs for his team. His 92-run knock featured 12 fours and three sixes. He batted at a strike rate of 158.

The Australian batter had an opportunity to complete his first century of IPL 2022, but Warner allowed Rovman Powell to play his natural game in the 20th over. Powell asked Warner when he was on 92 if he wishes to come on strike and complete his century. However, the Aussie said that personal milestones do not matter to him, and he asked him to play for the team.
