Malik has now played 12 matches in IPL 2022 and won the Fastest Delivery of the Match award in all 12 of them. The new award, which has been introduced by Swiggy in IPL 2022, rewards the fast bowler with a INR 1 lakh each per game. So, Malik has received prize money worth INR 12 lakh by bowling the fastest deliveries of the 12 matches that he has played.

Many fans would know that the Orange Cap winner and the Purple Cap winner receive prize money of INR 10 lakh each for taking the most runs and the most wickets in an IPL season, respectively. Thus, fans pointed out on social media that Umran has won prize money than the cap winners already.

“I don’t look at the speedometer, I just try to bowl in the right areas. I am working on yorkers, slower balls, just bowling in the right areas. This is my first full season in IPL. Last year, I got to play just three matches. I am getting a lot of experience from the likes of Dale Steyn, Tom Moody, (Muttiah) Muralitharan and (Brian) Lara.”
