Like the first T20I, Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan opened the innings for the home side. Kishan could not get going again as he lost his wicket to Sheldon Cottrell after scoring two runs off 10 deliveries. Rohit and Suryakumar Yadav followed him to the pavilion as they both lost their wickets to Roston Chase.

Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant stabilized the innings with a fifty each. Kohli scored 52 runs off 41 deliveries, while Pant played aggressively and remained unbeaten on 52 runs from 28 balls. Venkatesh Iyer played a fantastic cameo of 33 runs. He smacked four fours and a six during his 18-ball knock.

Rishabh Pant was not satisfied with the umpire’s decision regarding a wide delivery in the 2nd innings

The run-chase is on in Kolkata at the moment. Captain Rohit Sharma introduced Yuzvendra Chahal early in the innings. He bowled the fourth over, where the fifth delivery was close to the bat, but the umpire declared it a wide because it was outside the wide line.

Soon, Rishabh Pant was caught saying on stump mic – “Bat ke niche se gaya, wide kaise?” (The ball went from below the bat. How is it wide?). Here’s how Twitter reacted to it:
