England are in a commanding position to register their third consecutive win against the reigning ICC World Test Champions. Daryl Mitchell continued his fine form and scored another century against the England cricket team. Jack Leach was the pick of the bowlers for the home team with a five-wicket haul in the first innings.

In reply, the England cricket team scored 360 runs in their first innings. Ben Stokes’ men took a small lead of 31 runs in the first innings. Jonny Bairstow was the best performer for the Englishmen as he scored 162 runs and helped the team take the lead despite being 55/6 at one stage.

New Zealand set a 296-run target for the home team after scoring 326 runs in their second innings. Wicket-keeper batter Tom Blundell impressed with an 88-run knock, while opening batter Tom Latham smashed a fifty as well. Jack Leach took another five-wicket haul for England.
