The IPL 2022 Mega Auction has got off to an excellent start in Bengaluru. The bidding wars have already begun for the marquee players. Ravichandran Ashwin has joined the Rajasthan Royals ahead of the IPL 2022 season. This will be the first time the fans will see Ashwin wearing the RR jersey in his career.
The right-arm off-spinner started his IPL career with the Chennai Super Kings and remained with the franchise till the 2015 season. After that, he moved to the Rising Pune Supergiants. In 2018, the Punjab Kings signed him and named him the new captain of their team. Two years later, the Kings traded him to the Delhi Capitals. In the last two years, he performed well for the Capitals.
While the Capitals would have wanted to retain him, they could not do so because of the IPL 2022 Mega Auction rules. At the mega auction, the Rajasthan Royals shelled out INR 5 crore to sign him.

Every IPL fan would know the history between Jos Buttler and Ravichandran. When the off-spinner was a part of the Punjab Kings team, he mankaded Rajasthan Royals’ Buttler. That incident created a massive controversy, and the entire cricket world was talking about it.
