Talking about the first innings of the IPL match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals, DC captain Rishabh Pant won the toss and decided to field first. His bowlers got the team off to a good start as the openers Faf du Plessis and Anuj Rawat were back in the dressing room before the powerplay phase ended.

Virat Kohli soon followed them to the pavilion as he got run out and RCB slumped to 40/3 after 6.2 overs. Glenn Maxwell then came to the team’s rescue with a counter-attacking 34-ball 55. Speaking to the host broadcasters after the first innings, Maxwell said:

“It (the season) has started okay but still plenty of work to do. Very happy with the total we’ve got. The way we started, we lost a couple of wickets in the Powerplay. It was time to rebuild but when Kuldeep came on I think it was time to kick on. DK and Shahbaz batted brilliantly – they manipulated the field really well.”
