Royal Challengers Bangalore fans took a dig at Avesh Khan for smiling at the RCB players and then letting his team down with his disappointing bowling performance. It all started in IPL 2021’s last league game when Avesh smiled after bowling dot ball against KS Bharat in the final over of the match between the Royal Challengers Bangalore and the Delhi Capitals.

Bharat then smashed a six off Avesh’s bowling and guided the Royal Challengers Bangalore to a victory. In IPL 2022 last night, Avesh Khan picked up the big wicket of Virat Kohli and smiled at him while clapping his hands. Khan’s celebration did not go down well with some fans.

On top of that, the fast bowler was taken to the cleaners by the RCB batters as he ended with figures of 1/44 in four overs, conceding runs at an expensive economy rate of 11. Reacting to the smiles of Avesh, the official fans account of the Royal Challengers Bangalore posted a couple of memes with the following caption:

Lucknow Super Giants will likely retain Avesh Khan for IPL 2023

Avesh was one of the most expensive players signed by the Lucknow Super Giants for IPL 2022. The right-arm fast bowler, who previously played for the Royal Challengers Bangalore and the Delhi Capitals, had a memorable outing with the ball in IPL 2021.

He was among the leading wicket-takers of the competition, which is why multiple teams showed interest in him at the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. Eventually, the Lucknow Super Giants signed him for 10 crore. He did a decent job for LSG this season, scalping 18 wickets in 13 matches, but he could not deliver the goods when it mattered the most.
