It has been talk of the country for the past couple of weeks as to why Ravichandran Ashwin is not getting the opportunity to play in the Test series against England.

The Indian team suffered a huge loss against the England cricket team in the 3rd Test match of 5 match Test match series as India was handed an innings and 76 runs defeat in Leeds’ Headingley Stadium.

After the toss, when the Indian team was announced and one particular Ravichandran Ashwin’s name was missing from the playing eleven, the fans were surprised to see one of the most experienced Indian spinner has been excluded once again.

Ravichandran Ashwin has been travelling with the team but has not even featured once in the 3 Test matches that India has played on its tour to UK.

Former England international player Michael Vaughan tweeted out on his Twitter handle, “#BringAshwinBack” in reply to a tweet by Cricbuzz.

Indian cricket commentator and journalist Harsha Bhogle reacted to the tweet by retweeting it saying, “Haha, he will play at the Oval anyway!.” It is clearly understandable from his tweet that he believes Ravichandran Ashwin will be playing in the 4th Test which will be played at the Kennington Oval.

Ravichandran Ashwin, the Chennai born cricketer made his India debut in ODI match against Sri Lanka in 2010. He made his first appearance in the whites for India a year later in 2011.

Thus far, the off-spinner has played 79 Test matches in which he has 5 hundreds and 11 fifties. But he is well known for his wicket taking abilities as the right-hand off-spin bowler has captured 413 Test wickets.

He was the mainstay for wicket in the limited overs as well having played more than 100 ODI matches and 46 T20I’s in which he has 150 and 52 wickets respectively.
