Dinesh Karthik has become the talk of the town after he won the Man of the Match award last night in the IPL 2022 match between the Royal Challengers Bangalore and the Rajasthan Royals. Karthik came out to bat in a tough situation and stitched up a match-winning partnership with all-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed.
While Ahmed lost his stumps to Trent Boult before the match ended, Karthik remained in the middle till the end and helped the Royal Challengers Bangalore register their second consecutive win in the competition. It is pertinent to note that Karthik was the hero for RCB even in their first win of the tournament against the Kolkata Knight Riders.
Speaking at the post-match presentation last night after the win against Rajasthan Royals, Man of the Match Dinesh Karthik said:
“T20 cricket by itself…you need to premeditate. But if it’s not there where you want to hit it, you need to have the ability to change the shot. That’s the key. I’m very happy with this current costume – red and black is very, very good.”

For a long time now, Dinesh Karthik has kept the wickets in cricket matches. He used to wear the traditional helmets before, but now, he wears a different type of helmet. According to The Sports Rush, there is no particular reason behind it, but the report claimed that it could be because of the lighter weight of the helmet. Also, it was mentioned that it depends on athlete to choose the equipment he wants to wear.
Under the laws of cricket, the design of the helmet that Dinesh Karthik wears is approved, so he can wear this helmet and play for any team or franchise. Karthik will be in action against his former franchise Mumbai Indians on April 9 now.
