The West Indian legend Brian Lara can never be forgotten when it comes to Test cricket. His gigantic inning of 400 runs not out against England in the year 2004 will forever cherish in the memory of cricket fans. His knock while coming to bat at one-down the order came in just 582 deliveries, which resulted in a total of 43 fours and four sixes being smashed from his bat. This inning even broke the record of 380 runs scored by Matthew Hayden during the year 2003.

One of the greatest Sri Lankan middle-order batsmen, Mahela Jayawardene, etched his name in the record book following his glorious 374 runs inning against South Africa in 2006 which was played at the Colombo ground in Sri Lanka. The duo of Kumar Sangakkara and Jayawardene successfully managed the side after losing their openers. Jayawardene went on to fire 43 fours and 1 six from his bat, which eventually helped him get 374 runs.

Australian legend Michael Clarke has recorded the highest individual Test score at no 5. He accomplished this during the year 2012 against the mighty Indian side. His breath-taking knock consisted of 39 fours and 1 six, which helped him smash the highest ever score at no 5.
