The New Zealander wicket-keeper, Ian Smith, shook the whole cricketing fraternity when he took his home side from 131-7 to a respectful total of 391 runs following his 173 runs inning. His inning at no 9 consisted of 23 fours and three sixes and is still the highest score at that number so far.

To score a century while coming to bat at no 10 is not an easy task as easy as it seemed for Walter William Read. During the 3rd Test match against Australia in the year 1884, Read successfully remained at the crease for 113 minutes, which resulted in his score of 117 runs from 155 balls out of which 20 deliveries were smashed for boundaries.

Aston Agar stole the whole show when he took his home side from a shameful score to a quite respectable one in the year 2013. He went on to smash the highest individual score while batting at No 11 in Test cricket against England while Australia was struggling at 117-9. From that point, Agar hammered 98 runs and just fell short of his maiden Test hundred by two runs. Still, no one has ever tried to break this record, and it may even seem unbreakable for at least some years from now.
