Speaking of the second T20I between the Indian cricket team and the England cricket team, the Men in Blue lost the toss and received an invitation to bowl first from Jos Buttler. Here’s what Buttler had to say after winning the toss against India at Trent Bridge:

“We are going to have a bat first. Change in fortunes hopefully. It’s gonna be a great day here with the sun out. Reece Topley comes in and so does Philip Salt. He (Salt) will bat at 4. Parkinson and Curran are the unlucky ones to miss out. Looks like a great surface.”

The England cricket team scored 215 runs in their 20 overs, setting a massive 216-run target for the visitors. The highest successful run-chase in T20I cricket on English soil is 199 runs. So India had to pull off something which had never been done before.

Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant and Virat Kohli lost their wickets in the powerplay overs as it looked like the England cricket team would register a big win. However, middle-order batters Suryakumar Yadav and Shreyas Iyer ensured that it was not a one-sided match. Yadav played the aggressor’s role and smashed a century at Trent Bridge.

Twitter reacts as Suryakumar Yadav whacks a six above point against Richard Gleeson

Debutant Richard Gleeson has been one of the best bowlers for the England cricket team in this series so far. He scalped three wickets on debut and conceded only eight runs off his first two overs at Trent Bridge. In his third over, he bowled a full delivery to Suraykumar which was dispatched to the point boundary by the batter.
