The Eliminator match of the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League is underway right now, where the Lucknow Super Giants are battling the Royal Challengers Bangalore. LSG won the toss and opted to field first. The Bangalore-based franchise got off to a disastrous start as they lost their captain Faf du Plessis in the first over of the game.
Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar stabilized the innings with a 66-run second-wicket partnership. Kohli scored 25 runs off 24 balls before losing his wicket to Avesh Khan. Patidar played the aggressor’s role, while Kohli supported him well. The ‘KGF’ of RCB had an off day as even Glenn Maxwell lost his wicket after scoring nine runs off 10 deliveries.
Speaking with the host broadcasters before the match, Maxwell had said:
“We certainly rode the emotions with every ball in that game (MI vs DC). It was incredibly awesome to be involved with the excitement around the group. Having your hopes and expectations in someone else’s hands is not ideal but the way it panned out, it was a pretty galvanizing moment for the whole group.”
Soon after Maxwell’s dismissal, there was a short controversy in the match. Dushmantha Chameera bowled a low full-toss which seemed like a no-ball and even the square leg umpire called it an illegitimate delivery, but the replays showed that it might have been below waist.
Fans react as LSG players and dugout express unhappiness at the umpire’s decision
LSG players KL Rahul and Krunal Pandya were not satisfied with the umpire’s decision. Rahul even asked for the third umpire, but the on-field call stood. Gautam Gambhir and other members of the Lucknow Super Giants team management were unhappy as well. Here are some of the top Twitter reactions:

It’s not a no ball ffs, Patidar jumped. 😭😭

He jumped

Jumping doesn’t really matter, it’s a natural defensive action to a dangerous delivery

While he was on the crease, if he hadn’t jumped, it was above waist, hence a no ball
Gambhir time for this now😤 pic.twitter.com/r79dKmscV8
