It is well-known that Indian businessman Vijay Mallya bought the Royal Challengers Bangalore team in 2008. He was the director of this franchise for a long time, but because of his financial issues, he had to resign from his post. He resigned from his post on February 25, 2016.

The fans should note here that although Vijay Mallya made the bid to buy the Royal Challengers Bangalore, United Spirits owned the real owner of RCB. It is an Indian alcoholic beverage company. Even after Mallya resigned as the director, United Spirits continue to own the Royal Challengers Bangalore team.

The next question in the minds of almost every cricket fan is that how much the owner of RCB earn from this franchise. Obviously, the net worth will realize only when he sells it. However, there is also a profit for the RCB owner from the sponsorships, ticketing and other monetizing activities.

The fans would have seen the logos of various popular brands on the RCB kit. The companies need to pay a sum of money to display their logo on the jersey. Also, when the things were normal, ticket-selling constituted a part of the revenue generated by the IPL teams.
