The 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League began last month in Mumbai, and fans are yet to witness a special innings from the bats of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma this year. Both the Indian stalwarts have failed to score big for their respective team. While Rohit’s team Mumbai Indians are 10th on the points table with zero points from seven matches, the Royal Challengers Bangalore have still done a decent job.
Virat Kohli started well and almost completed two half-centuries in the initial games of IPL 2022. However, in his previous two innings, he has lost his wickets for golden ducks. Kohli first got out for a golden duck against the Lucknow Super Giants off Dushmantha Chameera’s bowling.
Earlier tonight, in the match between the Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kohli handed a catch to Aiden Markram on the first ball that he faced from Marco Jansen.
Speaking of the game between SRH and RCB, Sunrisers captain Kane Williamson won the toss and opted to field first. Here’s what Williamson had to say at the toss:
“We’re going to have a bowl. It’s hot and humid, some dew might be coming in. We’ll see. The wickets tend to remain the same, so we’ll look to use the ball first up. We’ve got a little bit of a break but we always know that the challenges come thick and fast.”
