The Pakistan cricket team resumed its home season earlier today with an ICC Cricket World Cup Super League series against the West Indies cricket team. Speaking of the first of the 3-match series, Nicholas Pooran made his debut as the full-time ODI skipper of the West Indies cricket team.

Pooran won the toss in Multan and decided to have a bat first. The decision worked in his team’s favor as the West Indies cricket team posted a 305-run total on the board. Opening batter Shai Hope stole the show with a magnificent innings of 127 runs. He smacked 15 fours and a six during his 134-ball stay in the middle.

“I have never played in these conditions before [on the heat and humidity], I will take that. Some balls kept low. We have enough on the board. Wish I could’ve got a bit more hundreds but the plan is to try to get more runs for the team and give us a target for the bowlers.”

During the first innings, the fielding of the Paksitan cricket team was not the best. A video has gone viral, where a fielder threw the ball towards another fielder while saving the boundary, but the ball went over his head and then both fielders Hasan Ali and Shadab Khan had to chase the ball.
