The second match of the ICC World Test Championship series between the England cricket team and the West Indies cricket team is currently underway. Dan Lawrence has grabbed everyone’s eyeballs with his bowling action in the game. The match is happening at the Kensington Oval in Barbados.
Visiting team England won the toss and elected to bat first. Centuries from captain Joe Root and vice-captain Ben Stokes ensured that the England cricket team posted a massive total on the board. Root top-scored for the visitors with a 316-ball 153. He smashed 14 fours in his knock.
Root received great support from Dan Lawrence who scored 91 runs. The rising star of England cricket team missed out on a well-deserved ton by just nine runs. He hit 13 fours and a six in his 150-ball innings. After that, Ben Stokes registered his maiden ton after his return to international cricket. Stokes took a break from the sport for mental well-being.
Stokes aggregated 120 runs off 128 deliveries, smacking 11 fours and six sixes. All-rounder Chris Woakes scored 41 runs off 57 deliveries. England declared the innings at 507/9. Veerasammy Permaul was the best bowler for the West Indies team. He took three wickets for the home side.
