In 16.4 overs, the Royal Challengers Bangalore have managed only 129 runs. During the pitch report segment ahead of the match, Matthew Hayden stated that it is a belter of a pitch which should be excellent for batting. When Rajat Patidar was batting, the pitch looked like that as he scored 52 runs off 32 balls.

Virat Kohli returned to form with a fifty, but he returned to the dressing room after scoring 58 runs off 53 balls. The credit goes to the fielding and bowling from the Gujarat Titans in the first innings. Captain Hardik Pandya impressed fans with his bowling changes and fielding as well. He saved a couple of boundaries.
