In a heartbreaking development for all cricket fans, Indian fast bowler S Sreesanth has called it a day on his career. Sreesanth was keen to play for the Indian cricket team in the 2023 Cricket World Cup and win another tournament for the nation, but the fast bowler announced his retirement via a post on Twitter earlier today.
The right-arm pacer was one of the top fast bowlers of the world before a ban from the sport derailed his career. Sreesanth tried his best to make a comeback by working on his fitness. He made a comeback to domestic cricket and played for Kerala in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
After that, he also participated in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, and earlier this year, he played for Kerala in the Ranji Trophy. Sreesanth picked up an injury, and it seems the pacer will never bowl again. Here’s what he tweeted earlier today:
“It has been an honor to represent my family, my teammates and the people of India. Nd everyone who loves the game . With much sadness but without regret, I say this with a heavy heart: I am retiring from the Indian domestic (first class and all formats )cricket.”

For the next generation of cricketers..I have chosen to end my first class cricket career. This decision is mine alone, and although I know this will not bring me happiness, it is the right and honorable action to take at this time in my life. I ve cherished every moment .❤️🏏🇮🇳
