Avesh Khan is primarily famous for his bowling skills. He did an excellent job for the Delhi Capitals last year, and this year, he has been impressive with the ball for the Lucknow Super Giants. But last night in IPL 2022, Khan stunned the cricket universe with a fantastic shot off the first ball of his innings.
Khan came out to bat at the number 10 position after the Lucknow Super Giants lost the wicket of Sri Lankan player Dushmantha Chameera. The Super Giants needed someone to support all-rounder Marcus Stoinis in the middle so that they could chase a 166-run target against the Rajasthan Royals.
Yuzvendra Chahal was in peak form as he picked up a four-wicket haul against the Lucknow Super Giants. He aimed to complete a five-wicket haul as he gave the ball some flight when new batter Avesh Khan came out to bat. Khan relentlessly smacked it out of the park to open his account in style.
Despite the incredible hit from Khan, Lucknow Super Giants lost the match by three runs eventually. Chahal won the Man of the Match award for his four-wicket haul. Speaking to host broadcasters after the game, Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson said:
“Chahal is someone who can be given the ball from over 1 to 20. I think he’s the greatest leg-spinner India has seen presently. His overs and Ashwin’s 4 overs in the middle are crucial for us and I thought why not use him towards the end when the pressure is more.”
Twitter reacts as Avesh Khan smashed a first-ball 6 against Yuzvendra Chahal

Avesh Khan spoils it. All it needed was a dot ball off Chahal's last ball for Kul-Cha to finish with the exact same figures on the same day in different matches 😑
