Jasprit Bumrah bowled a perfect yorker to dismiss Liam Livingstone in the 23rd match of the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League. The right-arm fast bowler has been inconsistent in IPL 2022 as he remained wicketless in three of the four matches that he played for the Mumbai Indians, but he looked in good touch tonight at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.
Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to field first. The wicket looked great for batting, and the Punjab Kings opening pair made good use of the batting-friendly conditions. The duo of Shikhar Dhawan and Mayank Agarwal added 97 runs for the first wicket off 9.3 overs.
After the dismissal of Mayank, the Punjab Kings innings slowed down a little a bit as Jonny Bairstow managed only 12 runs off 13 balls before Jaydev Unadkat picked up his wicket. It seemed like the Mumbai Indians would restrict the Punjab Kings to a total around 180.
Soon after, the dangerous Liam Livingstone lost his wicket to Jasprit Bumrah courtesy of an excellent yorker delivery. MI seemed to be making a comeback, but Dhawan, Jitesh Sharma and Shahrukh Khan guided PBKS to 198/5 at the end of their 20 overs.
