The 28th game of the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League is currently underway, where the Punjab Kings are battling the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Kane Williamson won the toss and decided to field first. PBKS lost the wicket of stand-in skipper Shikhar Dhawan very early.

Soon after, his opening partner Prabhsimran Singh edged a ball from T Natarajan to the wicket-keeper Nicholas Pooran. However, the Sunrisers Hyderabad players did not pick the inside edge first. They appealed for LBW, but the on-field umpire said it was not out.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad players had a discussion for 15 seconds. It seemed like they would be timed out because as per the rules, a team only gets 15 seconds to decide for the review. Williamson signaled for a DRS when the timer showed zero.

After that, the third umpire detected that Prabhsimran Singh was not LBW out because the ball took an inside edge off his bat. However, the ball traveled to the wicket-keeper who took the catch properly, and eventually, the batter was ruled out caught behind.

Many fans might be wondering why Prabhsimran Singh is playing instead of captain Mayank Agarwal for the Punjab Kings today. Speaking at the toss before the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, stand-in skipper Shikhar Dhawan said:

“Mayank got hit on his toe, he should be fine for the next game. So, there’s just one change for us – Prabhsimran is in. We are performing well without depending on individuals – need to continue playing well as a unit, the bowling can get better, we’re working on it.”
