Rahul Tewatia lost his cool during the 48th match of IPL 2022. Gujarat Titans are playing against the Punjab Kings tonight in the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League. Both teams battled once before in this season, where Tewatia was the hero for GT. He smashed two sixes off the last two balls and helped his team finish things off in style and pull off an improbable run-chase.
Earlier tonight, Tewatia had another opportunity to emerge as a hero for his franchise. However, he managed only 11 runs off 13 balls. He could not score a single boundary in his innings, while his strike rate was 84.
Sai Sudharsan saved the day for the Gujarat Titans tonight. He scored 65 runs off 50 balls, smashing five fours and a six. Speaking with the host broadcasters after the first innings, Sudharsan said:
“Played alright but it wasn’t the best. Played too many dot balls. It was gripping a little bit for the spinners and at the death, Arshdeep was nailing his yorkers, so it was difficult to get them away. Seems like a good total. 160-165 would be par, so we are a bit short.”
Rahul Tewatia and B Sai Sudharsan had a heated moment in the middle during the match
During the Gujarat Titans innings, there was a heated moment, where Rahul Tewatia was not happy with B Sai Sudharsan’s decision to send him back when he wanted a single. It was on the last ball of the 12th over, where Tewatia tapped the ball to the off-side for a single but it proved to be a dot ball.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to that incident, following those are some top reactions, lauding Sudharsan’s knock of 65 runs:
