All members of the cricket universe were treated to another exciting Test match from the Sydney Cricket Ground. Last year during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, the Indian cricket team pulled off an unbelievable draw against the Australian cricket team. This year in 2022, during the Ashes series, the England cricket team did the same thing as they denied the Australian cricket team a 4-0 lead in the ongoing ICC World Test Championship series.

After bulldozing the England cricket team in the first three matches of the Ashes 2021-22, the Australian cricket team took the field at the Sydney Cricket Ground to inch a step closer to their 5-0 whitewash dream. Usman Khawaja made a roaring comeback to Test cricket by scoring a century in the first innings and helping the Australian cricket team score 416/8 in their first innings.

In reply, Jonny Bairstow’s excellent hundred guided the England cricket team to a 294-run first innings total. The right-handed batter stunned the home side with his fighting knock. However, Usman Khawaja notched up another ton in the second innings as the England cricket team received a big target of 388 runs to win their first Test of the year.

England batted well as Ben Stokes scored a fifty, but they were on the verge of their fourth defeat in as many matches against Australia. It seemed like the Aussies would pull off another win, but James Anderson and Stuart Broad did not allow them.
