The second match of the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League series between the Indian cricket team and the West Indies cricket team happened earlier tonight at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The match was won by the home team as they took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the 3-match ICC Cricket World Cup Super League series.

Speaking of the battle between the Indian cricket team and the West Indies cricket team, stand-in skipper Nicholas Pooran won the toss and elected to field first. His bowlers did not disappoint him as a tidy bowling performance from Alzarri Joseph and co. ensured that the Indian cricket team scored only 237 runs in their 50 overs.

Suryakumar Yadav shone in the batting department, scoring 64 runs off 83 deliveries. He batted at a strike rate of 77 and scored five fours in his knock. Yadav received great support from KL Rahul who got run out after scoring 49 runs off 48 deliveries. Joseph and Odean Smith bagged two wickets each for the Men in Maroon.

Chasing 238 runs to win, the West Indies cricket team lost wickets at regular intervals. Middle-order batter Shamarh Brooks tried his best to save the day with a 44-run innings, but his effort went in vain. Odean Smith and Fabian Allen gave a scare to the home team. However, Prasidh Krishna’s 4-wicket haul won the match for the Indian cricket team.
