The 2nd Test match between New Zealand and Bangladesh ended in quite the great fashion as the home team crushed Bangladesh to record a massive win, and what better than Ross Taylor taking the final wicket in his last Test match.

New Zealand team were already behind in the series after losing the first Test in the 2 match series. And with New Zealand requiring a win, and one of New Zealand’s veteran, Ross Taylor, taking retirement following the match, what more you need for an interesting Test match.

The game did live up to all the hype. New Zealand cricket team had put 521 runs on the board with a double century from captain Tom Latham in the first and only inning of the match for the Kiwis.

They dismissed Bangladesh out for 126 runs in their first inning, and even though Liton Das scored a quickfire 102, that was not enough for them to save the match as the Bangla Tigers were dismissed for 278 runs. New Zealand won the match by an inning and 117 runs.

But the match will be remembered for the New Zealand team’s veteran batsman Ross Taylor, who played his last Test match of his career. Taylor was in tears during the national anthem before the beginning of the match, and it melt every cricket fans’ heart.

Bangladesh welcomed the man onto pitch with a Guard of Honour, while the fans gave him the standing ovation. He came in at number four and scored 28 runs before was dismissed by Ebadot Hossain.

Ross Taylor takes the last wicket

Taylor rounded off his Test career in possibly the best possible outcome as he took the final Bangladesh wicket to hand his team the victory. Taylor played a total of 112 Test matches in his career and scored 7683 runs.

Following the victory, Ross Taylor gave an emotional interview, where he talked about the match and expressed his gratitude towards not only his team, but also Bangladesh.
