The 37th match of IPL 2022 is underway between the Mumbai Indians and the Lucknow Super Giants at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Both franchises have had contrasting journeys in IPL 2022 so far. While the Super Giants have been impressive in their debut season, Mumbai have lost seven matches on a trot. Ishan Kishan got out in a very unlucky manner during MI’s match against LSG tonight.

Opening the innings with captain Rohit Sharma, Kishan struggled in the middle for a while. He scored only eight runs off 19 deliveries. On the 20th ball of his innings, he got an inside edge of a ball bowled by Ravi Bishnoi. The ball hit Quinton de Kock’s shoe and rebound straight to the slip fielder Jason Holder, who made no mistake in completing the catch.

It was one of the unluckiest dismissals in IPL history. Ishan Kishan has had quite a disappointing season this year, but tonight’s knock and dismissal sums up the fact that the luck is not favoring the left-handed batter of the Mumbai Indians team.

Looking at the recent shortcomings of Kishan in IPL 2022, former Australian cricket team captain Shane Watson had said:

“It hasn’t surprised me that MI are at the bottom of the table because they had a shocking auction. Spending so much money on Ishan Kishan… He is a very talented and skillful player, but he’s not worth blowing nearly your whole salary on.
