The 58th match of the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League is currently underway, where inaugural champions Rajasthan Royals are locking horns with last season’s tabletoppers Delhi Capitals. DC won the toss and opted to field first. Former RR player Chetan Sakariya picked up the wicket of the in-form Jos Buttler early, inviting Ravichandran Ashwin to the crease in the powerplay.

Ashwin has proven himself as a reliable batting option in IPL 2022 so far. He has played the role of a stabilizer for the Rajasthan Royals. With Shimron Hetmyer not available for tonight’s match, the Rajasthan Royals fans would have high hopes from Ashwin. The all-rounder has done a decent job so far and scored 29 runs off 23 balls.

The Rajasthan Royals star has smacked three fours and a six in his knock so far. During an over bowled by Kuldeep Yadav, Ashwin earned everyone’s attention with his new stance. It looked like he was trying to counter the spinner with that stance.

“It’s a do or die clash for us today. Obviously, we want to keep our hopes alive. The preparations have been a lot better. There were a few hiccups here and there but at the end of the day, we’ve played a lot of games and trained a lot, so there’s no excuses. We’re ready to go and we’re going to look to start well,” said Warner.
