Recently, Jaffer shared a picture of himself from the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground. He did not make any reference to Michael Vaughan in the caption or the photo, but Vaughan quoted Jaffer’s tweet and asked him:

“Is it the 20th anniversary of my first Test wicket you are here for Wasim ?”

Soon after, Jaffer gave Vaughan a reply with a photo of the Indian cricket team celebrating their away Test series win from the year 2007, where they defeated the England cricket team on their own home soil.

Wasim Jaffer was the first Test wicket of Michael Vaughan

Not many cricket fans would remember that Wasim Jaffer was the first wicket picked up by Michael Vaughan in his Test career. Vaughan dismissed Jaffer caught out during a Test at the Lord’s cricket ground in July 2002. It will soon be 20 years since the day Vaughan dismissed Jaffer.

Five years later, Jaffer and the rest of the Indian squad traveled to England again, where they made history by winning the Test series. The Test match at Lord’s ended in a draw, while India won the second Test at Trent Bridge by seven wickets. The third game ended in a stalemate as well, as India won the series by a scoreline of 1-0.
