6th wicket – Ambati Rayudu and Stuart Binny – 160
Often billed as underachievers in Indian cricket, Ambati Rayudu and Stuart Binny hold a distinct record at the international level and that is the best sixth-wicket Indian ODI partnership. Playing against Zimbabwe in 2015, Rayudu scored 124* while Binny chipped in with 77 to help India reach a respectable total and win the close encounter.
7th wicket – MS Dhoni and Ravichandran Ashwin – 125*
If batting with tail-enders is an art then MS Dhoni is the Picasso of it. The right-handed batsman from Ranchi saved India from an embarrassing defeat against Pakistan in a 2012 ODI series, by scoring 113 off 125 deliveries. Although India lost that match, Dhoni and Ashwin etched their names in the record books.
8th wicket – MS Dhoni and Bhuvneshwar Kumar – 100*
No fan can forget the way MS Dhoni saved India from a loss against Sri Lanka at Pallekele in 2017. India needed 231 runs to win the match. They got reduced to 131-7 as Akila Dananjaya took a six-wicket haul. However, Dhoni rescued the team by adding 100 runs for the eighth wicket along with Kumar. Bhuvneshwar scored 53* while Dhoni supported him with a patient knock of 45 runs.
